To simplify the task of determining a video input’s alignment, MixCast includes functionality to read the orientation of your camera from built-in sensors (specifically its accelerometer). This functionality is currently only available for the following cameras:
- Microsoft Azure Kinect
- ZED Mini/ZED 2 (supported in MixCast 2.4.1+)
When you enable this function, you’ll still need to determine the position and horizontal facing direction of the camera through the other offered calibration processes, but the camera’s Pitch and Roll will be automatically populated, reducing possible error.
Note: If the video input is attached to a tracked device, you shouldn’t enable this function since the external tracking system is more accurate, especially while in motion.
